India’s Reliance Industries keeps PTA, MEG & MELT prices unchanged

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), India’s largest player in polyester value chain, has maintained prices of purified terephthalic acid (PTA), monoethylene glycol (MEG) and MELT same as the previous week. Earlier, the company decreased prices of these raw materials of polyester. The company had reduced prices of polyester staple fibre (PSF) in mid-August.

According to the market sources, RIL maintained PTA price at ₹85.80 per kg, MEG at ₹52.30 per kg, while MELT was priced at ₹91.57 per kg i.e., same as the prices announced a week ago. The company reviews global market conditions, price trend in China and fluctuation in crude oil prices to determine prices of polyester raw materials.

In mid of this month, the company decreased price of polyester spun fibre (PSF) by ₹4 per kg to ₹116 per kg from the previous price of ₹120 per kg. market experts said that the company may decrease PSF price by ₹2-3 per kg at the end of this month.
