IDFL, the global leader in auditing and testing for filled textiles, is organising a webinar aimed at addressing quality testing and certification requirements for outerwear and filled textiles. It will also give a brief overview of the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and Textile Exchange (TE) standards for those who are new to the processes.

To be conducted in collaboration with Fibre2Fashion, the webinar titled ‘Ensuring Outerwear & Filled-Textile Quality and Certifications’ is scheduled for Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at 1.30 p.m. India time. It will have 2 sections addressing quality testing and certification requirements with a short intermission and a Q&A time at the end of the presentation.

The first presentation will address how claims and global compliance requirements are fulfilled through available testing methods. Tests of interest include down composition, specie, fill power, cleanliness and thermal testing, sterilization certifications and many similar test methods for synthetic products. As a bonus, finished product testing addressing net fill weight, down proof, thermal testing, and related textile tests will also be included.

The second presentation will be a brief overview of the GOTS and TE standards, followed by going in-depth to what is the trend of expectations from brand names, common misunderstandings in the application and certification process, portions of the standards that most people and companies struggle with, and other valuable topics.

Wilf Lieber, Chairman of the Board and CEO at IDFL, who has designed, authored and promoted IDFB (International Down and Feather Bureau) testing methods around the globe as the primary testing used for international trade and is more precise, efficient and timely, will speak at the webinar.

Also scheduled to speak is Bryan Mortensen, Global Audits Director at IDFL. Mortensen is the architect, developer and expert consultant in developing the Audits and Certification services of IDFL. He has immense knowledge of TE and GOTS requirements and is currently working on IDFL internal quality management and is adding additional standards to IDFL’s breadth of services.

Other speakers include Keith Wilson, VP of SE Asia Operations and Development; and Mangesh Kanwate, Sr. Auditor – IDFL India.
