Suominen’s current president and CEO, Petri Helsky, will leave his position as president and CEO, Klaus Korhonen, SVP, HR and legal, has been appointed as Suominen’s interim president and CEO as of November 30, 2022, the company said in a press release.
Suominen has announced the appointment of Tommi Bjornman as the new president and CEO of the company. Bjornman currently works as the president and CEO of Avgol Nonwovens and starts as Suominen’s president and CEO at the latest in May 2023. Suominen, which is headquartered in Finland, manufactures nonwovens as roll goods for wipes and other applications.
“I want to thank Helsky for his contribution to the company. At his leadership Suominen renewed its strategy focusing on innovation and sustainability. He has played a vital role in leading the implementation of the strategy and we are now in a better position to respond to the growing need of sustainable nonwovens,” Jaakko Eskola, chair of the board of directors, said.
