China’s container throughput rises by 4.2% y-o-y in Jan-Jul 2022

Container throughput at China’s ports increased by 4.2 per cent year-on-year, which is about 168.68 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) of goods, during the first seven months of 2022. More than 140 million TEUs of goods were managed at the country’s ports in the first half of the year, an increase of 3 per cent from a year before.

Moreover, cargo container volume at China’s ports touched 8.92 billion tonnes during the same period, which was an increase of 0.1 per cent from last year, according to data released by China’s ministry of transport.
