The Spring/Summer (SS) 23 edition of contemporary and premium fashion show Scoop closed its doors celebrating a highly successful 21st season. The recently concluded show offered an exclusive edit of over 250 contemporary womenswear, menswear, accessory and lifestyle collections expertly curated by the show’s creative director and founder Karen Radley.

“It was an amazing show. I am thrilled that so many of our wonderful visitors came despite the heat. We all stayed very cool inside and have received the most wonderful feedback from both our designers and buyers. The introduction of menswear was very well received and I’m looking forward to working with existing and new designers to continue to present menswear collections at future editions,” Radley said.

The space was bustling with buyers from across the country including buying teams from Matches, Anthropologie, Browns, John Lewis, Fortnum & Mason, as well as a host of independent boutiques from across the UK including The Mercantile, Cavells, Precious, Hetre, Daniels, Javelin and many more, the organiser said in a press release.

“We had a great time showing SS23 collections at Scoop. We had some superb feedback from attendees, importantly that they enjoyed the venue whilst appreciating the fab air con (during a heat wave). There was also a super response to the theatre of the fair, the effort Karen and the team had put into the display, the way the venue had been dressed and curated was fantastic. From our perspective it was great to be showcasing so many of our brands at the fair. It’s an opportunity for us to showcase our collections towards the mid to high end stores that attend the Scoop fair. Also, it falls at a great time for us during the selling season,” Jonathan Chamberlain from Inside Out Agencies, who showcased a number of collections, said.

“We’ve had some great success on our womenswear collections, particularly on everyday outfit offerings from Noella, Dr Denim and Pepe Jeans. We’re also working with Karen to introduce Menswear to the fair as we have noticed when being part of Scoop before there was an appetite to see the menswear offer on our collections, and a lot of the independents attending are buying across mens and womenswear. I would say out of most of these stores we spoke with they placed orders and selections with at least one menswear collection – sometimes more! We had some collections that were particularly popular like KnowledgeCotton Apparel, North Sails and Mos Mosh Gallery – this was a particular hit due to the Mos Mosh Womenswear taking a significant space and a lot of the existing stockists long anticipating the launch of a menswear offering. My take away is it’s always brilliant to experience when we all make an effort to come together. In a great venue with fantastic products and there is some real magic there. Credit to everyone involved and so nice to see the attendees and exhibitors having a great time together,” Chamberlain added.

“Being at Scoop has been absolutely brilliant, I love being here, it’s lovely and cool and the décor is so beautiful. We haven’t done the show since before lockdown, so we weren’t sure how it would go, but it’s been so nice to see all our customers again, it’s just so nice to be back! We’ve seen loads of new people. There isn’t really another show like Scoop – it’s quite targeted, so we don’t get a lot of time wasters here. We get the people we know are going to be interested in our products. We don’t need hordes of customers; we just need the right ones. Scoop is organised so well, it’s seamless so the whole experience for everyone is really lovely – another level. I’ve been so pleased with the mix of people we’ve spoken to, it’s been a great balance. We’re really pleased with the show,” Amanda Connock from Connock (Candles,) said.

“What an amazing show Scoop is! Our boutique has been open now for 18 years, so we’ve been attending trade shows for a long time and it was fantastic to see such a lovely buzz of customers around the exhibitors. The show felt so fresh, and we were made to feel very welcome,” Kirstine McDonald from Glebe Fashion, Falkirk, said.

“We loved it here today! We walked in and felt a sense of space and coolness – it was perfect, not too hot, or cold. It was great to be back at Scoop and not having to do our buying over Zoom. Getting a feel for new designers all under one roof was just what we wanted. We came to see Jane and Transit, and bought both! We also liked Primrose Park for their summary collections,” Mary McSweeney from Les Jumelles, Galway, said.

The show celebrated an impressive line-up of designers and new faces including premium women’s and menswear collections from & ME Unlimited, 0711 Tbilisi, A.Kjærbede, Absolut Cashmere, Aligne, Arche, Aspiga, Azurée, Beatrice B, Bird Sunglasses, Brgn Men, Brgn Women, Bruuns Bazaar, By Malina, Conditions Apply, D.A.T.E, Dea Kudibal, Devotion Twins, Electric + Rose, Elie Saab Silks, Emily Lovelock, Enamel Copenhagen, Fillyboo, Folklore, Frnch, Hutch, Jessica Russell Flint Lingerie, Jessica Russell Flint Rtw, Joseph Ribkoff, Khaiden, Knowledgecotton Apparel Mens, Laidback London, Mos Mosh M/W, Mos Mosh W/W, Mud Jeans, My Sleeping Gypsy, Narratives The Line, Norr Copenhagen, Primrose Park, Redefine, Rose & Rose, Sacre Coeur, Simone Bruns, Stripe & Stare, Sundress, Tandem, Tinsels, Transit, Twinset, West Seventy Nine & many more.

Scoop is renowned internationally for its exclusive presentation and expertly curated edit of fashion designers and labels from Britain and the rest of the world, many of whom select the show as their launch pad.
