The Check Up: Wright Lassiter III of Henry Ford Health System

In June, Henry Ford Health System became the first major system in Michigan to mandate the COVID vaccine for all 33,000 of its employees and contractors. That led to a lawsuit from about 50 employees, but that lawsuit was later withdrawn. In the end, only 400 of Henry Ford’s workers resigned or were terminated by the mandate. By October, the system was experiencing a 99% compliance rate.

Wright Lassiter III, president and CEO of Henry Ford Health System, joins The Check Up to discuss the innovative ways the health system is dealing with labor shortages exacerbated by burnout and fatigue.
