Luxembourg’s GFG appoints John Baker to supervisory board


Luxembourg’s e-commerce group Global Fashion Group (GFG) has announced that it has appointed John Baker to the group’s supervisory board and as member of the audit, remuneration, and sustainability committees, effective from January 1, 2023. He has spent a large part of his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where he most recently served as lead relationship partner and group audit partner, up to his retirement in 2020.

Over time Baker has also held positions across a wide range of sectors on various board and audit committee roles. His business and auditing experience, brings decades of expertise to GFG across a wide range of international groups in both developed and emerging markets, including GFG’s geographies. Further, his extensive experience across retail, technology, and ESG in particular, bring further functional aptitude and knowledge of GFG’s sector, which strongly complement the existing individual capabilities of the GFG supervisory board members, according to a press release by GFG.

Additionally, Carol Shen, current member of the GFG supervisory board, has been appointed chair of the sustainability committee and member of the nomination committee as of January 1, 2023. After almost four years of service, on January 1, 2023, Victor Herrero, stepped down from the GFG supervisory board to focus on his other executive and non-executive roles.
