Germany’s industrial production dips 0.4% YoY in Nov 2022: Destatis


The decrease in calendar adjusted production in Germany’s industry amounted to 0.4 per cent year-on-year (YoY) in November 2022. For the same month, production in industry in real terms was up by 0.2 per cent on the previous month on a price, seasonally, and calendar adjusted basis, as per the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis).

A decrease of 0.4 per cent (provisional figure: -0.1 per cent) was observed in October 2022 compared with the previous month. Within the industry, the production of intermediate goods went up by 1.1 per cent. The production of consumer goods decreased by 1.5 per cent, according to the provisional data of Destatis.

The decrease in calendar adjusted production in Germany’s industry amounted to 0.4 per cent YoY in November 2022. For the same month, production in industry in real terms was up by 0.2 per cent on the previous month on a price, seasonally, and calendar adjusted basis, as per the Destatis. Energy production in November 2022 was up by 3.0 per cent.

Outside industry, energy production in November 2022 was up by 3.0 per cent. In contrast to the overall industry, the production in the energy-intensive industrial branches increased by 0.2 per cent in November 2022 compared with October 2022. Compared with November 2021, the decrease in calendar adjusted production in energy-intensive branches amounted to 12.9 per cent in November 2022.
