Nigeria’s Kwara state’s garment factory would generate direct employment for 2,000 after it is inaugurated this year, according to state governor Alhaji AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who recently said the aim is to turn Kwara into a garment production hub, which could then benefit from the US African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) and other economic benefits.
AbdulRazaq said the administration is constructing 39 digital literacy centres across the state in partnership with Universal Basic Education Programme. The innovation hub would also be inaugurated later this year, according to Nigerian media reports.
