Cigna rebrands into 3 corporate units

Cigna is taking on a new corporate name and and organizing its operations into three business units, the health insurance company announced Monday.

Cigna Corp. will be the Cigna Group, Cigna Healthcare the insurance arm and Evernorth Health Services the pharmacy and care delivery division that includes the pharmacy benefit manager Express Scripts. The company’s ticker symbol on the New York Stock Exchanges remains unchanged as CI. Shares will begin trading as the Cigna Group Feb. 23, the company reported to the Securities and Exchange Commission Monday.

Cigna profits rose 24% to $6.7 billion in 2022, the company announced this month. Insurance membership grew 5.4% to 18 million last year.
