China’s leather industry touches 551.12 bn yuan in H1 2022

Major manufacturers of leather, feather, fur, footwear, and other related items in China, with annual revenues of 20 million yuan and above, reported a combined operating revenue of 551.12 billion yuan (approximately $82 billion) in the first six months of 2022. 

The revenue reflected an increase of 6.5 per cent year-on-year, according to recent data released by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. 

The statistics also revealed that Chinese companies in the sector collected profits worth 24.97 billion yuan, down 0.8 per cent compared to last year.
