Cambodia’s CDC approves garment factory in Kampong Speu province

The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) recently approved construction of a new garment factory by Hao Jia Li (Cambodia) Garment Co. Ltd. in Bosta village of Kaheng commune in Samrong Tong district of Kampong Speu province. The project has an investment capital of around $3.5 million and is expected to create about 700 jobs for locals.

CDC recently approved projects worth about $2.5 billion.

The project has an investment capital of around $3.5 million and is expected to create about 700 jobs for locals.

Over $60 million was invested in agriculture in the first quarter of this year—a rise of 108 per cent, and  investment in the energy sector reached $389 million—an increase of 607 per cent, according to the Economic and Financial Statistics Bulletin for the quarter.

Industry investment was over $200 million in the quarter—down by 65 per cent, a Cambodian newspaper reported.

Investment projects approved by CDC earlier include logistics centres and multi-purpose ports among other things.
